Event Production - Case Study

Creative event design

Aura designed and produced a major Ball for 800 business leaders from the UK's property and construction industries to coincide with a large-scale conference happening during the same week. The event comprised of a drinks reception, three-course dinner, awards ceremony, live entertainment and party.

Specifically aimed to help promote the themes of Sustainability, Regeneration and Innovation within the construction industry, the Ball also needed to imaginatively raise money for Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

The objective was to ensure the event was a 'must attend' occasion - the hot ticket. It needed to be conducive to hosting important guests and afford enjoyable networking, attractive to relevant sponsors as well having the social caché to be inviting to female partners.

Aura's concept demonstrated how the beauty of the sanctity of nature can co-exist in harmony alongside the built environment, in a truly entertaining and creative fashion. The event was hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald OBE, and featured unique live entertainment from Rory Bremner.

Aura delivered the following:

  • Event concept, design and production
  • Devised the story for the evening and proposed creative ways to share this story through the event and its marketing
  • Venue and other supplier sourcing and management
  • Guest speaker sourcing and management
  • Live entertainment planning and delivery
  • Theming and décor design and production
  • Technical production management - staging, lighting, sound, video and graphics support
  • Print design and production
  • Creative approach to charity fund-raising
  • Logistics design to a fine level of detail
  • Flawless execution
The event successfully demonstrated the construction industry's major commitment to adopting a responsible approach to a sustainable future. Guests left feeling they had attended a remarkable social event which had broken the traditional mould. Guests were engaged and entertained but, most importantly, they had a great time.
